"There's no use of stitching it. It failed on me on purpose" I thought.
So I threw it out. I couldn't care less.
I didn't want to get a new pair of jeans,
I tried shorts and pants instead.
I got over my old ripped jeans.

Until one day, I saw the old ripped jeans I threw away,
on the most cluttered corner of my closet,
waiting to be stitched.

Finally, this semester is over. Now onto the real business..

HOLIDAY!

Yup, I'm going home tomorrow night. After all this sleepless, tiring, full-of-time-consuming-works nights, I get to go back to Jakarta. All of those hard work had finally paid off.. I got my final critique for studio 1 last week and it went good, I think.. There were about 6 jurors and they all gave positive reviews.

I'm gonna post the pictures in here, but I don't feel like writing down the concept. It's gonna be waaay to long to explain the whole thing.

So for now, I'm just gonna post the picture of my final project and my previous projects that gave me the ideas to make it.

And these two are my previous projects that helped me derived the concept of the dwelling (my final project)

Basically i took the idea of section cuts and elevating the space from the ground. and that's pretty much my concept.

That's way too INTENSE.

Yesterday would probably be one of the worst days of my life:

1. Someone stole my laundry clothes (and yes it was still WET. it just never come across my mind that someone would do that). i lost 2 loads amount of my laundry clothes. basically i lost everything that i worn these past 2 weeks.

shit..

2. Illustrator crashed on me when i was drawing something in there and I was almost done!

Hurr.

Anyways, whoever stole my laundry, i hope you got beat up by a car, half of your body fall into the sewage and got stuck there. until another car hits you again or ran through you.

and when you die i hope that it's slow, painful, and lasts forever.

Hello, hello.

I am stuck with doing a research about the Dunescape on PS1 Summer Warms Up for my studio class. Supposedly, I can use the research to apply it on my own project which is creating a model using 1 x 4 x 8 "boxes based on the 3 movement from a drawing we did earlier.

But yes, I currently have nothing in my mind whatsoever.

And the dunescape is waaayy to complicated to be incorporated.

1. I didn't have any photoshop on my new laptop. (meaning : I CAN'T EDIT ANY OF MY WORK!)

3. Some guy promised to lend me his laptop (which has photoshop), but turned out not even calling and it's 1 AM.

Since i got back to jakarta about 2 weeks ago, Taxis have always been my dearest bestfriends.
My constant encounters with taxis have made me wonder about the drivers, yes, taxi drivers.

For those of you who don't know Jakarta, let me tell you something... The traffic jam is hella crazy over here, and for someone like me, I would rather ride the cab than drive while I'm here. Taxis play a big role in Jakarta's public transportation, and I bet most of the taxi drivers here have met quite many "interesting" people.

I'm talking about people who loves to made out in the cab, people who loves to talk, people who listens to his/her mp3 while inside the cab and sing out loud, people who are just quiet, illegal "night people", etc.

We tend to forget that the taxi drivers can actually listen to what we are saying/doing while we're inside the cab.

While...

The taxi drivers tends to act as if they don't realize (or maybe they really do ignore them) what his passengers are doing on the back seat. I like to think that maybe Taxi drivers are actually like psychologists, they know people's personality only by their one time encounter in his therapy session approaching some destination.

I've always wanted to do this project:
Me interviewing a large number of taxi drivers and asks them how they feel while they're on duty and meeting those "interesting people" and listening to their secrets.
I just haven't got the guts to do it.

It might be quite interesting to find out how the taxi drivers feel when they listen to his passenger's secrets and deal with it.

Sorry for the lack of update for quite some time now.

May was just hectic. Too many exams, and school assignments.

Anyways... Here are a few updates:
I got accepted in California College of the Arts. :)
Went to Seattle for 4 days on Memorial day weekend last week.
Finally went to the beach on Santa Cruz around 2 weeks ago.

Oh yea, I got 2 haircuts (in a month) which I later regret.
and yes, the cost does not define the result.
I spent 75 dollars on a haircut which I hate and ended getting another haircut for 50 dollars and yet I still hate it because now my hair is as short as it was last year.

A few friends and I created a mini "iseng" video. haha. Pretty random, I'll upload it here later. Since Inka hadn't finished editing it.

Untuk blog kali ini saya memilih untuk menulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia.
Kenapa?

Sekitar 2 minggu yang lalu, gw dapet tugas bikin essay 4-6 halaman untuk kelas EWRT 2 (Critical Reading, Writing, Thinking). Topiknya tentang "College Education in America." sebenernya waktu itu dikasih waktu yg cukup lama buat ngerjain, skitar 1 mingguan. Tapi, seperti biasa..
I procrastinate A LOT.

sampe akhirnya besoknya udah deadline. gw blm nulis apa2. dengan panik gw nulis cepet2 kebut semalem. Akhirnya selesai si, tapi gak sempet proofread (ngecek grammar dan struktur kalimat).

Dengan pdnya gw kumpulin, ngarep dapet A. (geblek pol)

Akhirnya tadi pagi dibalikin..
pas gw baca gradenya ternyata...

oh gosh, i really hate it when my almost-ran-out-of-memory-iBook (11GB left to be exact and yes, i'm still using iBook) is forced to open a crazy-ass "SUPER RAME" friendster profile. I'm talking about LOADS of application, crazy backgrounds, background music that CAN'T be stopped/paused. Dudes, fix your profiles.

1. I don't need to see thousands of glittery objects in your profile

2. If you wanna put music in your profile, at least make it stoppable. Not everyone wants to listen to it. (I hate it when I have to mute my laptop just because I can't find the friggen stop or pause button!)

3. Please, you don't have to put all applications that are available for friendster in your profile.

(dearest friendster, why do you have to add all of those useless features? I liked you because of your simplicity.)

4. Your background and font color should cooperate.

5. I don't need my laptop lagging and producing rotating rainbows (it's like the sandwatch on windows) when opening your page.

6. I don't think you'll be needing a chatbox in your friendster profile. If you really wanna chat, you can use messenger or if you only want to leave a message.. In case you don't know, there's this feature called "message" and "comments".

7. Double attention for those who have two (yes two!) songs played at once! Geez. pick one and go with it.

Just so you know, your friendster profile doesn't look cooler with all that mixed up together.

Mind the lack of update.

This week has just been really, I mean, REALLY busy. I got tons of works and presentations for all of my classes. Not to mention, my drawing class assigned me to make 4 drawings and the due date was just the day after, it was pretty time consuming. Thus, I didn't have the time to write (or should I say type?) anything down..

Basically, nothing has been really going on except of the overloaded homeworks and yes, finals. I don't even have a time to think of any other topics except for my school works. Oh yea, I also never really thought that applying to universities (especially when you are required to send a portfolio and you sort of messed up your gpa last quarter) would be pretty stressing! argh. I really need moral support right now.

I need to make 15 designs (it can be in the form of sketches, paintings, photography, etc). Oh gosh, I've been procrastinating really BAD lately.

Actually, it's not the portfolio that I've been stressing. It's my GPA! ARGH! I messed mine up so bad last quarter that I am SCARED that the universities (note: I'm currently attending a 2-year college and currently applying to 4-year colleges) that I'm applying to would reject me because of my last quarter's grade. I'm hella stressed. That's why I really need to write something down.

On February 8, 2008, Polaroid Corporation announced that it will discontinue production of all instant film. This site will document the aftermath of this announcement and will serve as a home-base for the effort to convince another company to begin producing the cherished technology that Polaroid has so carelessly abandoned.

Open this site. and help planning out the best way to create a joint effort to save instant film. They have contacted Polaroid, Fuji and Ilford about licensing. They have more in the works and will update this site regularly.

I decided to put number 7, 6, and 5 in the same post. Cause it's somewhat related to one another, and it's all pretty personal (uhm?)..

for lucky number seven i would go with...

my drawing equipments. I regret not bringing them here. because I just realized that buying all that stuff from scratch cost a fortune. For example: if only I had brought my watercolor pencils, I wouldn't had to buy another set that only contains less than one halves of the quantity that I used to have back home for $50. And yes, I have this weird thing about "if I don't draw with one certain pencil/pen/anything, I would somewhat lost my inspiration." I know, it's only my conscience. but somehow it's starting to eat my subconscious.

My all-time love affair, my beloved guitar. haha.. I miss playing it, I miss mistreating it (kadang-kadang suka gak sengaja kebanting), I miss my fingers that would get "kapalan" after not playing it for a long time, etc.

I wanted to bring it here at the first place, but then I figured I'm about to transfer anyways (Wish me luck on my portfolio! :D ), thus I decided not to bring it.

uehm.. it would definitely be Kemang.

why?

Because I spent most of my high school years around Kemang (Since I went to Gonzaga, which pretty much only a few blocks away from Kemang). Too many memories.

Whether it was at Kemang Food Fest, Coffee Bros, Casa, Bread & breakfast, KFC, McDonald's, Andri's house, or even Marco's house, where my band got rejected when we auditioned for GPN(Gonzaga Performance Night) about 2 years ago, and many other places.

too bad i only went there once when I went home last december.

And yes, you can find anything there 24/7. Unlike here, where everything closed at 10PM. I can't even find a starbucks that's still open after that time.

The title is pretty self-explanatory, I'm going to add my top 10 countdown of things I miss about Jakarta one at a time.. So here goes my countdown..

for number 10,

the presence of "anak gaul" (the wannabes and queen bees), also known as "attention-whores". Despite the fact that I REALLY HATE THEM. I miss those days where I can go to the mall, and talk shit about them with my friends. So yea, it's kinda boring here because I rarely found them. Those people who loves hip-hop/r&b today, using du rags, baggy pants, basketball jerseys, etc. and suddenly morphed into a depressed emo prototype the day after, as if their life had always been miserable, wearing "clana mlorot, boxer kliatan, padahal pake belt super besar". Wait, that's not all. What excites me the most is that.. the very next month they will morphed into an artsy person, listening to only indie rock/ambient/electronica. And of course, they will change their clothing attributes. who knows what they'll become in the coming months?

and those are only for guys, don't even get me started on the girls..

"iya, nyiieeeetttt." "saiiang temans, cups!"

hold on, temans? is that the plural form of 'friend' in indonesian?

anyways..

This is my first blog entry (in this blog) as you might have noticed.

I decided to create a new blog. Hopefully, this blog will function normally, unlike my other blogs which are pretty much dead. My other blogs are just a series of boredom liberation.
